I woke up late and rushed to get to school in time. The weatherman must be in a sadistic mood because it started to rain immediately once i stepped out of the house. And it was no ordinary rain (unlike the ones in those soppy, romantic taiwanese serials where the rain falls at a 90 degree angle from above). This particular session came with winds that spat the rain at an unforgiving 45 degree angle onto my clothes, hair, whatever... relinquishing any use for an umbrella.
By the time i slid into the cab, i was wet all over.
We were assigned to act as tour guides for secondary school students. While waiting for the schedule to be divided, we tucked into a pathetic array of cheaper-then-cheap selection of beehoon, fish balls, pseudo pizza slices and fish balls-disguised as wantons. Yes. The fishball paste was simply and poorly wrapped in some lame wanton skin.
Aiyah... my school must be on a tight budget.
After eating, we had some free time on hand, so we decided to try every game in the main hall. From the penalty shoot-out to the manually realigned bowling lane, the DDR machine (Moonie and Fara has minimal to zero hand-eye coordination.. heehee.. but i still love those spatially challenged lasses!) to the basketball-and-hoop thingee.
We raided every single gift giving station too; like hungry, savage beasts. Haha.
After which, we were herded like blind sheep to wait for the buses to arrive. And good gawd.. guess what?! I saw EDEN (on wheels)!!!!!! Yes, parked in front was the most beautiful green vehicle on 4 wheels I can ever imagine!
Glistening under the partially cloudy skies like an emerald.
The PROMISED
As Fara sang and danced to Milo's jingle of "it's marvelous what Milo can do for you".
The first bus unloaded the ITE students who insisted on seraching for Tammy.
My reply was simple : We've got indian, chinese and malay Tammy here. Which one are you looking for?
They answered they were interested in Suli (chinese Tammy). Wahahhahha..!
And guess which group I got? Wink wink - Westwood Sec!! The zany bunch drove us mad at first. Just 2 classes comprised of almost 100 students. Can you believe it? 100 MF students?!! It was like we each needed 8 arms to keep them under control.
We were simply overwhelmed.
We divided them after putting them through an unbearably torturing intro briefing, and embarked on the tour. The bunch of 28 students that were assigned to Zul and I were enthusiastic and warm, going though most of the stations and even the lamer ones without complaint. I'm so proud of them.
We visited SCL and SHS. We all felt violated by the school when we realized that the free ice cream would only be available on saturday. PUI. We almost (ok lah, i'm just adding drama here) staged a revolt.
Nonetheless, my time with them was amazing =)
Sending them off was bittersweet. As they hid among themselves, whipping out their stylo, state-of-the-art handphones for some Kodak moments, we parted, exchanging handphone numbers and email addresses.
Subsequently, we headed down to man the lucky dip booth run by CADC at the main hall. Only stopping by the students' lounge upon hearing news that there was food. How disappointing it was. All that was left was just the containers that used to hold the food and the aluminum foil that covered it.
Maybe school decided that the students are anemic and in dire need of some iron. Hohoho. I think not. Bleah!
I had fun playing Othello with Fara, Moonie and Nizar. Terrence popped by to watch the matches. And some folks from ITE Balestier played some mean, kick ass sets with us. Nice! And yes, the good people from the Mind Games club also gave us some soveniers.
Freebies!!! I LIKE!!!
After the terribly long day, the club decided to have dinner together. We settled for Bishan. After eliminating all the fast food options and the horrid muslim food at the foodcourt, we chose Secret Recipe. I had the yummy, tom yum gong. Complete with humongous prawns.
I see you salivating already. Tough luck!
I stuffed my face like there was no tomorrow, and through the conversation (though my selective amnesia doesn't allow me to recollect at present) Sharon ended up suffering pseudo asthmatic attacks of guffaws. I know that girl has a super vivid imagination. That's why she's laughing. Like me =)
Terrence says AUDC placements must be confirmed by 9th Feb. 9 long days in Indon and 8 rounds of mind numbing debate challenges. To go or not go? Finances seem to be the least of our worries, at least for now. Not many club mates seem to be able to squeeze this into schedule, or face solid disapproval from parents.
I need my Fara to go. I want her as roommate. I need her as teammate.
But Fara, if your parents really doesn't allow, then we'll chuck Indon and save up for Europe. No worries =) we'll still raze Forever 21 to the ground in Europe. Hohoho
